Karate Australia

In accordance with the following standards for correct conduct and practice, all members of the AKF Inc. all accept and abide by the following rules as representatives of the AKF Inc:

  • Co-operate with the AKF Inc. in establishing and conducting a quality program of karate.
  • Work towards the positive promotion of Karate in the community.
  • Behave in a dignified manner whilst representing the Federation in any capacity and that personal conduct will always be such as to uphold and not injure the standing and reputation of the AKF Inc. within the community.
  • Refrain from the misuse of any official position for personal gain by way of exaggerated or unsubstantiated claims, fraudulent practice or sexual harassment.
  • Adhere to the official dress code whilst representing the Federation.
  • Neither possesses, nor use, prohibited drugs or any banned substances, nor participate in any activity that is illegal or contrary to the policies or interests of the Federation.
  • Make every effort to respect the rights of all people involved in Karate regardless of gender, race, religion or social status.
  • Endeavour to regularly improve and upgrade knowledge and professionalism as a representative of the Federation.
  • Keep confidential all matters, which may be learned, in any official capacity.

Failure to comply with any of the above will be dealt with under the AKF Inc. Rules of Association Part II Membership Rule 12 Behaviour & Discipline of Members


SDE Martial Arts

DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS;

If you or your child has any disadvantages that may affect their performance at training or a grading we should be advised. It will be taken into consideration by the examiners at the grading.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY;

Ensure that when you train you do so at a pace that you are comfortable with and if you experience any difficulties make sure to inform the instructor. Should you suffer any injury, illness or condition in the future, please inform us by completing this form.

STATEMENT:

I recognize that the S.D.E Martial Arts are not able to provide me with medical advice with regard to my fitness and/or medical conditions and that the above information will be treated with confidentiality.

DISCLAIMER:

  1. I am aware that the very nature of training the Martial Art of Karate has an inherent risk of physical injury associated with it. Even though S.D.E. Martial Arts Instructors will try to make training as safe as reasonably possible there are some factors beyond their control. These factors beyond their control are such as other students' levels of motivation and concentration. Other student's ability to judge spatial distance. The type of injuries that can occur from training a Martial Art can be spinal, neurological, orthopaedic (bone) and soft tissue injuries. I am aware of the possibility of these injuries and in joining a training session (or allowing my child to participate in a training session). I take full personal responsibility for this decision, further I am cognisant of the consequences of this decision.

  1. In consideration of (Child or Adults Name) training with S.D.E. Martial Arts I (on my own behalf and/or on behalf of the child) hereby release and discharge S.D.E. Martial Arts, and its instructors, officers and administrators to the maximum extent permitted by law, from:
  1. all responsibility or liability from any act, omission, or neglect causing loss or damage to (myself) and/or (child) personal property or injury to (myself) and/or (child) or the death to (myself) and/or (child)
  2. all claims, suits, actions or proceedings or demands, costs, charges and liabilities now or in the future of whatsoever nature, arising out of or in any manner whatsoever connected to (myself) and/or (child) with participation in S.D.E. Martial Arts activities from this date to (myself) and/or (child) first participates in S.D.E. Martial Arts. Activities / training sessions onward

3. I have legal care and control of "Child") and request that the Child is accepted as a member of the S.D.E. Martial Arts.

  1. I agree to ensure that before commencing training to (myself) and/or (child) will remove any watches, jewellery or other items which might cause injury to another student and ensure that to (myself) and/or (child) finger and toe nails are trimmed.

  1. Without limiting the operation of paragraph 6, I acknowledge on my own behalf and on behalf of the Child that the intended effect of paragraph 6 is to relieve the S.D.E. Martial Arts, to the maximum extent permitted by law, from any liability or responsibility it may otherwise have had arising out of or connected with the Child's participation in the S.D.E. Martial Arts activities whether on the date on the Child first participates in the S.D.E. Martial Arts activities or after that date.

  1. I acknowledge on my own behalf and on behalf of the Child that this document, may, to the maximum extent permitted by law, be pleaded in any court as a bar to any action, suit; claim, cause or action or proceedings commenced or at any time to be commenced by me, the Child or any person claiming through either of us against the Club arising out of or in relation to or in any manner whatsoever connected with the Child's participation in the S.D.E. Martial Arts activities.

  1. I unconditionally and irrevocably agree to indemnify the S.D.E. Martial Arts for any loss, liability, cost, charge or expense, claim, suit, action or proceedings or demand now or in the future of whatsoever nature suffered or incurred by the Club arising out of or in any manner whatsoever connected with the Child's participation in the Club's activities, whether on the date on which the Child first participated in the S.D.E. Martial Arts activities or after that date.
